Embark on an epic 14-day journey traversing the diverse landscapes and rich history of Central and Eastern China, from the ancient capitals of the north to the misty mountains of the south.

Your adventure begins in Beijing, immediately setting off for the historic cities of Kaifeng and Dengfeng to explore the legendary Shaolin Temple. You will then follow the path of emperors to Luoyang to see the exquisite Longmen Grottos before descending into the lush river valleys of Central China.

Boarding a luxurious cruise ship at Chongqing, you will sail down the mighty Yangtze River, passing through the breathtaking Three Gorges and visiting the iconic Three Gorges Dam at Yichang. The journey takes a dramatic turn in Zhangjiajie, where you will walk the glass bridge and explore the Avatar-like peaks of the Wulingyuan Scenic Area. You will then wander the ancient walls of Fenghuang and the ink-wash landscape of Huangshan (Yellow Mountain) before returning to the cosmopolitan bustle of Shanghai to conclude your grand tour.

    Arrive in Beijing, pick up by our local guide in Beijing at the exit of Beijing International Airport, then transfer to Beijing West railway station, take a high speed train to Kaifeng.

    Upon arrival, pick up by our guide in Kiafeng, visit The Dragon Pavilion (Long Ting), Iron Pagoda (Tie Ta), then drive 2 hours to Dengfeng.

    This morning, take a short drive to visit the famous Shaolin Temple and Pagoda Forest, we will watch a spicy show of Shaolin Kungfu during the visit. Shaolin Temple, one of the most famous Buddhist temples in China, located near the base of Mount Songshan and has been included into the UNESCO World Heritage List. Shaolon Kung Fu is well known at home and abroad for its Zen culture and wonderful performance.

    At the end of visit, dive 1 hour to Luoyang, check in the hotel and have a rest.

  • LUOYANG - CHEGNDU

    After breakfast, check out the hotel, visiting Longmen Grottoes. The Longmen Grottoes are some of the finest examples of Chinese Buddhist art. Housing tens of thousands of statues of Buddha and his disciples in Hénán province, China. There are as many as 100,000 statues within the 2,345 caves. Starting with the Northern Wei Dynasty in 493 AD. In 2000 the site was inscribed upon the UNESCO World Heritage List as “an outstanding manifestation of human artistic creativity,” for its perfection of an art form, and for its encapsulation of the cultural sophistication of Tang China.

    After lunch, transfer to Luoyang railway station, take a high-speed train to Chengdu. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel in Chengdu, check in and have a rest.

    In the morning, we will go to the Chengdu Research center of Panda Breeding to have a real chance to get intimate interaction with lovely panda, Today, we will have local Hot Pot for lunch, and visit Wenshu Temple in the afternoon, where you can spend some time sitting in its tea house to enjoy a cup of tea and absorb the special atmosphere of Chengdu.

    Wandering around the local market and bar street Jinli, take local delicacies yourselves and enjoy the leisure life with local people.

    In the late afternoon, transfer to Chengdu railway station, take a high speed train to Chongqing.

    Upon arrival, drive to Chaotianmen wharf and check-in at the Victoria cruise, which Set sail from Chongqing at 9:00 p.m. From where, you will start your trip on the Yangtze River.

    Enjoy your Yangtze cruise! In ther morning, you will have a short visit to Fengdu (2.5 - 3 hours, at your own expense) - known as the 'Ghost City' to most Chinese people. Around 16:00, there is an excursion to Shibaozhai (around 1 - 2 hours) - a wooden architecture stands on the riverside.

    Today, an optional excursion around 07:30 will be the White Emperor City (2 hours, at your own expense) - a place offers a view looking toward the Qutang Gorge is depicted on the back of the Chinese 10-yuan bill. Back to the ship and then pass through Three Gorges that namely Qutang Gorge (near 10:00) - considered the most dramatic by many visitors, Wu Gorge (near 11:30) - known for its deep valleys and forest covered mountains, and then after lunch, you will have an excursion to Goddess Stream (4.5 - 5 hours).

  • DISEMBARK, YICHANG TO ZHANGJIAJIE

    Today around 07:30, you will firstly visit the Three Gorge Dam (2.5 - 3 hours) - planned to be by far the largest hydroelectric project in the world. After the visiting and lunch time, disembark at Yichang around 12:30.

    Your tour guide will wait for you at the wharf in Yichang. Then directly take 6.5hrs drive from Yichang to Zhangjiajie. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and have a rest.

    Alternative: From Yichang to Chongqing by train

    After visit Three Gorge Dam, our local guide will pick you up from the dam around 11:00am, then transfer to Yichang East Railway station, take a hard sleeper train from Yichang to Zhangjiajie (5 hours ride).

  • ZHANGJIAJIE - WULINGYUAN SCENIC AREA

    Activities: Tianzi Mountain, Yuanjiajie Nature Reserve, Zhangjiajie National Forest Park

    This morning, we will first visit the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park within the Wulingyuan. Zhangjiajie Forest Park has more than 3000 surprising pillar-like formations pulling out from earth and seen throughout the park. First take elevator up to Huangshi Fort to have a high view of the park - a huge painting of Chinese beautiful landscape.

    Then you are arranged to visit Wulingyuan Scenic Area for a trip including the highlights of Tianzi Mountain and Yuanjiajie Nature Reserve. Wulingyuan is a UNESCO World Heritage site noted for its lush vegetation, unique sandstone pillars, pristine waters and a wide variety of flora and fauna.

    After being fully refreshed in your hotel, drive to Wulingyuan Scenic Area. We wil first take a cable car to the best view terraces on the mind-blowing Tianzi Mountain, whose weird stones and peaks make you feel like you are delving into the magical world of the movie “Avatar”. Unlike Avatar, the views of Tianzi Mountain are all masterworks of nature. And then, take the world’s highest Outdoor Elevator Bailong to Yuanjiajie Nature Reserve, where you can continue your Avatar dream. It is a naturally formed platform mountain, surrounded by higher summits which are divided by deep valleys. Added to this scene is an array of amazing lesser peaks and grotesque rocks.

  • ZHANGJIAJIE - WULINGYUAN SCENIC AREA

    Activities: Grand Canyon Glass Bridge scenic area, Golden Whip Stream

    This morning, after breakfast, drive about 40 mins to Grand Canyon Glass Bridge scenic area, here we will have a chance to visit the glass bridge.

    In the afternoon, continue to visit the Golden Whip Stream which is located in the east of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, named after the 380-meter high Golden Whip Rock, Golden Whip Stream meanders 15 Li. Golden Whip Stream (Jinbian Stream) is famous for its pristine water, its verdant mountains, its steep cliffs and its serene valley. As a veritable “paradise” for plants, its pathways are adorned by an abundance of flowers, trees, and grasses. And it is also a kingdom of animals. Golden Whip Stream is named after Golden Whip Crag, its landmark spot, and runs from Laomo Bay to Shui Rao Si Men (water-surrounded gates).

    Activities: Tianmen Mountain, The Miao village of Dehang

    After breakfast, drive to the Tianmen Mountain, which is renowned for the Tianmen Cave. The cave is 131.5 meters high and 57 meters wide. It is believed visitors, who reach the cave will get good luck. Brave tourists are recommended to walk and pose for photos on the 1430-meter high glass plank on the Mountain. The round-trip cable car will save your transportation time and physical strength for sightseeing.

    After that drive to Hunan Fenghuang (Phoenix) Ancient Town-250km (about 3 hours’ driving) away from Zhangjiajjie for overnight stay. It is an old town built up in Qing Dynasty, is still being kept in its original appearance with 300 years passed. 

    On the way, we will visit the Miao village of Dehang, “Dehang” means “beautiful valley” in the Xiangxi Miao language. The village sits below steep cliffs amid mountains and forests. It has diverse karst landscapes and dozens of streams crisscross the surrounding region. Suspended buildings, waterwheels, and a small ferryboat form a view that has graced many postcards. Here we will have a chance to enjoy a traditional performance.

  • FENGHUANG - ZHANGJIAJIE - SHANGHAI

    This morning, enjoy a guided tour in Fenghuang. Fenghuang Ancient Town is a guidebook for people to know the past life in the pre-modernization period. The wooden houses and stone roads are the typical scenes here. When sightseeing in this town in a misty day, you will really find why it is so famous and popular all the time. The scenery after rain or in the misty morning is more like a Chinese traditional painting rather than a real world. In the late afternoon, drive 3.5hrs back to Zhangjiajie Airport, take a flight to Shanghai

  • SHANGHAI - HUANGSHAN

    Morning enjoy a walking tour in Yu Yuan Garden. It is one of the most famous gardens in China and is national heritage listed. It was built in 1559 and extended in 1577. Each section of the garden is separated by curved white walls crowned with the head and body of a dragon on them. It's named after the original owner.

    Move to the Peace Hotel (formerly the Cathay Hotel, built by Sir Victor Sassoon) on Shanghai's famous Bund riverfront. Take in magnificent views of the city as your guide discusses in length the Baghdadi-Jewish legacy of the city. After that, your guide will take you to the Hongkou district, also known as the Shanghai Ghetto. In the Hongkou district, you will visit various places including the Shanghai Jewish Refugees Museum (Ohel Moshe Synagogue) and a monument in Huoshan Park. In addition, your guide will take you to explore the back lanes of the district and to visit a Chinese home where Jewish refugees used to live.

    Later you will drive to Shanghai Hongqiao Train Station, where you'll board the train to Huangshan

  • TUNXI - YELLOW MOUNTAIN - HONGCUN VILLAGE

    After Breakfast, drive for one hour and 20minutes to Yellow Mountain. Located in the southern part of Anhui Province, the Yellow Mountain is undoubtedly China's most celebrated mountain for all its grandeur and beauty, which was declared a World Natural and Cultural Heritage in 1990 by UNESCO Heritage Committee. The round trip cable car is included. During the 10 minutes cable car journey, you will enjoy the magnificent scenery. The guide will accompany you to visit the highlights of the Yellow Mountain, such as North Sea and West Sea area, where you can appreciate the breathtaking scenery and photograph the seas of clouds, peculiar-shaped rocks, verdant Pine trees, and rolling mountains, and then, take the cable car to go down the mountain. And then drive to visit Hongcun Village which enjoys the reputation of 'a village in the beautiful Chinese picture' because of its location at high altitude and being shrouded by clouds and mist.

  • HONGCUN - HUANGSHAN

    After Breakfast, we will enjoy a guided tour in Hongcun. Hongcun Ancient Village is a famous UESCO World Heritage Site. You can enjoy the ancient Hui Style architecture, one type of traditional Chinese architecture and the breathtaking landscape. Hongcun is a wonderful place to visit, originated during Song Dynasty (960-1276), praised as the most beautiful village in China. It is famous as the ancient village in the Chinese painting. Quite different from other traditional ancient villages in China, the layout, landscape, architectural form, decoration, and construction techniques all retain the original features Hongcun.

    After lunch, drive to Huangshan North Railway station, take a high speed train back to Shanghai.

    Upon arrival, picked up by our guide in Shanghai, transfer to Shanghai Pudong Railway station, take a flight departure Shanghai at 01:15am on 30 May for Israel.

Additional details

1. Before you pay deposit to book the tour, we haven’t made any reservation yet. The train, flight tickets and the hotel may different from the itinerary listed.

2. The visiting order of the scenic spots in the itinerary may change according to the traffic condition and other unforeseen things.

3. Tourist insurance is a must before going, please provide us the confirmation of insurance company when sign up.


The price includes

1. Entrance Fees: to scenic spots as listed in the itinerary

2. All the activities fee mentioned in the itinerary: Hutong rickshaw in Beijing; Sichuan Opera show in Chengdu;

3. Private Transfers: Transfers between airports, hotels and scenic spots while sightseeing during the trip by private air conditioned vehicle with a driver.

4. Meals: All meals as indicated in the itinerary (B-breakfast, L-lunch, D-dinner), include Peking duck dinner in Beijing; Hot pot dinner in Chengdu.

5. Guide: As outlined in the itinerary an English-speaking guide and driver will be provided in each city, who will remain with you throughout your time in that city. A new guide and a new driver will meet you at each city on your tour, to provide you with the best local knowledge available

Payment conditions

To confirm your reservation, you must pay a deposit of 30% of the total amount due via the payment link that your local agent will share. The balance is due 30 days prior to departure. The quoted exchange rate is valid for the next 7 days – if the deposit is not paid within this time, the quote will be re-calculated.


Terms and conditions for cancelation

i. Cancellation of the Tour by CAT (local agent):

CAT reserve the right to cancel the postpone tour at any time up to the date final payment is due under the following condition: in our opinion, health and/or safety factors related to conditions in China would make the tour inadvisable. And in this case, all money paid by the participants will be refunded. If the tour is postponed, CAT will offer all those who have signed up the opportunity to have the same tour for a later time, but the price may be changed according to the season. We will notify you of any change, and give you a reasonable period

of time to make your decision. Consumers may, but are under no obligation to, take the tour under these new terms. After final payment has been made, we may cancel the tour only if, in our opinion, health and/or safety factors related to conditions in China would make the tour inadvisable. Since cancellation in this case involves factors which may arise suddenly and are entirely outside our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, civil unrest and epidemic disease, we cannot guarantee a full refund in this case. This is because payment will already have been made to finalize the arrangements and reservation.

ii. Cancellation of the Tour by Consumer:

Any cancellation must be made by sending an email to the local agent. The cancellation fee varies according to how many days prior to departure the cancellation is made:

   ·  More than 30 days prior to departure: 5% of the total holiday cost

   ·  Between 30 and 22 days prior to departure : 25% of the total holiday cost

   ·  Between 21 and 8 days prior to departure : 50% of the total holiday cost

   ·  Between 7 and 3 days prior to departure : 75% of the total holiday cost

   ·  Less than 3 days prior to departure and after the departure date: 100% of the total holiday cost

All cancellations must be in writing and will be effective upon receipt by CAT. No refund will be made to those participants who break the journey regardless of the portions of the package unused. If, owing to serious illness or injury, the participant withdraws from the tour, a refund will be subject to the consent of the local travel agent.

No refund will be made to those participants who have failed to secure valid travel documents such as passport or visas.
