After breakfast, head to visit Tian’anmen Square, the largest public square in the world, then follow in the footsteps of emperors, court ministers and eunuchs and head south to the magnificent and colorful Forbidden City. Forbidden City Beijing, also called Imperial Palace Museum, is located in the very heart of Beijing. It remained the residence of the emperors for nearly five hundred years, from the 15th century to the early 20th century, and was the actual and symbolic seat of imperial power. Popularly known as the Forbidden City, it was built in the Ming Dynasty between the 4th and the 18th years of the Yongle period (1406 - 1420 AD). Many of the buildings of the Palace have been repaired and rebuilt, but their basic form and layout remain in their original state.

In the afternoon, take a visit to Jingshan Park, in the middle of the north-south central axis of Beijing lies the Jingshan Park, one of the most sought-after parks in the city. Adjacent to the Forbidden City to the south, the Beihai Park to the west and the Drum Tower to the north, the Jingshan Park was once the highest point in the center of Beijing, which offers a fantastic panoramic view of the Forbidden City at the top of Coal Hill. 

Then, we will explore the Hutong culture. First enjoy a Hutong rickshaw tour. As the Forbidden City is the symbol of China's royal family, the Hutongs in Beijing show the real life of the common people. When you visit Hutong by rickshaw, you could really taste the life of common people in Beijing.

Then head to visit the most famous Hutongs keeping the original layout in the Shichahai area. As the Forbidden City is the symbol of China's royal family, the Hutongs in Beijing show the real life of the common people. a hutong is a unique form of community that exists only in China. In the morning, we will take 2-2.5hrs drive to the start point of today’s hike-Gubeikou town. We hike on Panlongshan Great Wall and enjoy the breathtaking views with a relatively peaceful hike. This classic Great Wall hike allows you to experience what is now the most popular Great Wall trek. Gubeikou, often overlooked and rarely crowded, offers some of that "wild wall" that we know our clients love. At the end of the hike, drive back to Beijing downtown.

BEIJING - XI'AN

This morning, we will first go to visit Summer Palace. Summer Palace located in a northwestern suburb of Beijing; it is an immense park containing some Chinese traditional architecture and arts. It was built and served as a royal garden during the Qing Dynasty. It exhibits the quintessence of the Chinese classical landscape gardening. The halls, the pavilions, the corridors, the pagodas, the bridges and the water were elaborately arranged. The long Corridor is one of the most exquisite structures in the garden. It is over 700 meters long and decorated with thousands of Chinese traditional paintings.

In the afternoon, transfer to Beijing West Railway station; take a high-speed train to Xi’an. Free in the evening.

XI'AN CITY TOUR

We will have a full day time tour to visit the magnificent Qin Terra-cotta Army with an extension to Mausoleum of Emperor Qin Shi Huang, one of the greatest archaeological discoveries in the world: a life-size clay soldier poised for battle. Qin's tomb was built in about 2500 years ago and was filled with more than 8,000 soldiers, 130 chariots and 520 horses as well as models of palaces, pavilions, fine vessels, precious stones and rarities. UNESCO listed it in 1987 as one of the world cultural heritages.

After visit, drive back to Xi’an downtown to the Gao's Grand Courtyard and take some time to settle down for a short Chinese Shadow Play (10mins) by a professional shadow puppet troupe. As we witness the colorful figures cut from leather and paper, enjoy ancient China’s traditional stories.

Then, go to visit Muslim Quarter, a place where you can try different local snacks and explore Muslim culture. After take a stroll with our guide in the Muslim Quarter and the visit to the Big Mosque, where the way of life is markedly different from the traditions of the Han Chinese. For over 1,300 years, since the Tang Dynasty (A.D. 618 - 907), Muslims have been an integral part of daily life in Xi'an, the beginning of the Silk Road.

Free in the evening, if you want, Enjoy the music fountain at the square of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Big Wild Goose Pagoda, rising to a height of 64.5 meters, was built by the famous Buddhist master Xuanzang to preserve classic scriptures he bought back from India during the early Tang Dynasty.

Then explore the Grand Tang Dynasty Ever-bright City. It isn’t just a theme park—it’s a dazzling time machine. As we have just made a sudden ascent to 3,670 meters, the rest of the afternoon is free to rest and acclimatize. We suggest taking it easy, drinking lots of water, and avoiding heavy foods. If you are feeling up to it, you may find a stroll around the Barkhor in the old town an exciting introduction to the spiritual, and commercial, side of Lhasa.

LHASA (3,670m)

We will visit the Potala Palace, landmark of Lhasa and spiritual symbol of Tibet - you will join many pilgrims on your way to the top of a hill where this 13-storey architectural wonder is perched upon. The approach to the Potala is not easy, and requires climbing many steep steps, so we take it slowly and allow ourselves to leisurely enjoy the Palace and its surroundings. We enjoy strolling through its winding corridors and peaking in some of its thousand rooms, and can only imagine what life here was once like.

In the afternoon, we visit the Jokhang Temple, the spiritual center of Lhasa. As we make the inner circuit around the courtyard, spinning numerous prayer wheels as we go, we are swept up in the energy of the devout. From the rooftop, we get stunning views of the Potala, and the snow capped peaks off in the distance. Around the Temple runs the Barkhor, a holy circuit which pilgrims undertake and a bustling commercial market. The rest of the time is left free for you to venture around Bakhor market, where you will feel you are right at the heart of Tibet.

LHASA (3,670m)

Since we have just made a sudden ascent from lowland to an altitude of over 3,700 meters (12,139 ft), today’s itinerary is not so tight. Visit Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery, and Norbulingka.

Drepung is about 8km west of central Lhasa, once world's largest monastery with about 10,000 monks. This day's sightseeing begins with these white monastic buildings piled up on the hillside. Walking up to the hill is a pleasant thing, an easy break from the solemn ambience inside the halls and chapels. At the plat roof of hillside, you can have very good views of the whole Lhasa city and the distant mountains. 

Sera Monastery sits at the foot of the mountains. One of the three main Gelupka monasteries in Lhasa, Sera is an important spiritual center for Buddhist monks. If we are lucky enough, we could watch the Lamas in their traditional theological exercise of lively debating.  is recognized by “the summer palace of dalai lamas”. "Norbu Linka" means beautiful gardens. This garden covers an area of 36 hectares and it is the annual vacation home for the 7th to the 14th Dalai Lama, who would move here from the Potala Palace to this summer palace and spend most of their summer here.

LHASA / TSURPHU MONASTERY (4,480m) / DAMXUNG

After breakfast, we will have a travel explanation meeting and then our driver will take us to Tsurphu Monastery for the acclimatization. It takes about 2 hours, and the altitude will up to 4,480m. Around 60km west of Lhasa, Tsurphu Monastery is the seat of The Karma branch of the Kagyu order of Tibetan Buddhism. It was built in the middle of the valley facing south with high mountains surrounding the monastery complex. As the birthplace of the Reincarnation System of the Living Buddha, this over 800-year-old spiritual hub still pulsates with religious activities. After that we will drive to Damxung for night.

On the way, you will visit Yampachen Hot Spring (The price includes the entry fee, but excludes bathing Fee, $8-$15/person for different pools). Yampachen lies just south of the Nyainqêntanglha Mountains, famous for Yampachen Hot Springs, at an altitude of 4290–4500m making it the highest altitude set of hot springs in China. Both indoor and outdoor swimming pools have been set up here, in which visitors can enjoy a bath.

DAMXUNG / DRIVE TO NAMTSO (4,720m) / LHASA (3,670m)

In the quiet morning, take a short drive to Namtso, beat the cold and get up early to the lakeside of Namtso to appreciate the sunrise and beautiful scenery. In Tibetan, Namtso means 'Heavenly Lake.' Namtso Lake, considered one of the three holy lakes in Tibet, is the second-largest saltwater lake in China and the highest lake in the world. As the sun rises, cloud lifts from the mountains and the scene is bathed in golden sunshine. When the weather is clear, the water is a stunning shade of turquoise and we will be surrounded by magnificent views of the nearby Mount Nyenchen Tanglha range with peaks of more than 7,000m. The wide open spaces, dotted with tents of local nomads, are breathtaking. We may also walk along the lake or climb up the hill near the lake to explore the area. After visiting the lake, we will drive back to Lhasa.

LHASA - 2.5h - YAMDROK TSO - 2.5h - LHASA - CHENGDU

After breakfast, drive from Lhasa to Yamdrok Tso Lake (4408 m), one of Tibet’s three holy lakes and located 110km outside of Lhasa. It takes three and a half hour to Yamdrok Tso Lake, most of the time we are driving on the mountain road, winding and bumpy. Climbing over the snow pass of Kambala (5030m), the dazzling Yamdroktso just lies several hundred meters below the road, and in clear weather is a fabulous shade of deep turquoise. Far in the distance is the huge massif of Mt. Nojin Kangtsang (7191m).After down from the mountain, there is about 30km road along lakeside, with barley fields on the other side of the road. Continue drive to visit Rituo Temple (altitude: 4,500m), and have a soft walk along lakeshore path.

Take a ferry (30mins) to Yunbuduo Island, which gathers the most essence of the Yanghu Lake.

At the end of visit, drive back to Lhasa Gongga Airport to take flight to Chengdu.

In the morning, go to the Chengdu Research center of Panda breeding to have a real chance to get intimate interaction with lovely panda. We will spend the whole morning visiting different panda rooms. Here, we can explore the daily life of the cute pandas, eating bamboo at their active time (from 9 o’clock to 11 o’clock), and other rare and endangered wild animals including with black-necked cranes, white storks etc.

In the afternoon, we will go to visit Wenshu Temple in the afternoon, where you can spend some time sitting in its tea house to enjoy a cup of tea and absorb the special atmosphere of Chengdu.

We will arrive at People’s Park to experience the locals' laid-back lifestyle. There is an open-air tea house of over 100 years’ history. Sit down, order a pot of Chinese Tea, make a casual chat with your friends and watching locals indulging themselves in different kinds of folk entertainment – napping in a lively teahouse, playing mahjong, disco dancing, neck massage, ear cleaning.

The Dong are originated from East Coast China and migrated to Guizhou because of the war 2000 years ago, their ancestors came from Yue kingdom conquered by Qin Kingdom during the war, they are famous for signing, especially the Grand Chorus that is celled Eastern Acappella by western musicians.

The Dong people are one of the best carpenters in China, they still build their houses, bridges and drum towers by tenon and mortise. In the morning, take 1.5-2hrs drive to Longji Rice Terrace Field. Visit the Dragon´s Backbone Mountain Terrace Feild where the Zhuang and Yao Ethnic Tribes have inhabited there for hundreds of years.

Longji Zhuang and Yao Minority Villages: The natural beauty and the colorful ethnic Chinese cultures and customs attract people from all over the world. Visit Zhuang and Yao Minority tribes´ villages and some families if you like. Those ethnic girls dressed in their own colorful costumes may have a demonstration on hair combing or singing and dancing upon guests´ request and gratuity.

Longji Rice Terrace Field: The terrace rice fields were first built in the Yuan Dynasty (about 800 years ago) and completed in the Qing dynasty. from the feet to the top of the mountains (elevation 300~1100 meters), there are miles of rice terraces. In the morning, drive to Jiuxian village. Here you can find old city walls from Tang dynasty, residences from Ming dynasty and scholars’ manors of Qing dynasty, now, 44 traditional ancient dwelling houses have been kept, and they adjoin closely one by one, showing you a vivid architectural pattern of Ming dynasty. Jiuxian Village is surrounded by mountains for three sides, it’s the closest to the scenic spot and real fields, pretty good to savor up an idyllic tour or Yangshuo countryside trip here.

Bamboo rafting on the beautiful Li River. With its breathtaking scenery and taste of a life far removed from the concrete metropolis, the scenery along the Li River section from Yangdi to Xingping is the best. On both sides there are farmlands, orchards and trees, water buffalos patrolling the fields, further away gorgeous Karst peaks of all shapes which will give you surprises at each bend of the limpid river under the blue sky.

After breakfast, take a short drive to Xionggongshan Hill. When you climb up to the top of Xianggongshan Hill for about 20 minutes, overlook and find the hills standing orderly, clear Lijiang River meandering through the hills. The light, clouds, sunrise, pink clouds here attracts numerous photographers and photography enthusiasts. Therefore, it is one of the best place to enjoy the best view of Li River. It is even better and less costly than taking the Lijiang River Cruise.

After visit, drive to Guilin downtown to visit the Reed Flute Cave, the most famous limestone cave in this area and good example of the Karst Formation with distinctly-colored stalactites.

We will delve deeper into Wulingyuan’s wonders:

Tianzi Mountain: Ride the world’s highest outdoor cable car to terraced summits shrouded in clouds. These jagged granite formations, sculpted by millennia of wind and water, echo the floating Hallelujah Mountains of Avatar. Walk glass-bottom trails where valleys plunge into abysses, their rock spires glowing amber at sunrise.

Yuanjiajie Nature Reserve: Descend via the Bailong Elevator, a 326-meter glass monolith clinging to a cliffside. Here, layered sandstone mesas stretch endlessly, their fog-draped ridges mirroring Pandora’s bioluminescent landscapes. Hike through hidden valleys strewn with grotesque rock sculptures—nature’s surrealist masterpiece.

In the late afternoon, visit the Baofeng ("Treasure Peak") Lake Scenic Area, part of the larger Wulingyuan Scenic Area. It is bordered by lush green trees and shrub-clad stone peaks of various shapes that enclose the lake and give it a fairytale-like atmosphere. Baofeng Lake is a reservoir, with a dam enclosing its waters, not for the purpose of power generation, but for the purpose of crop irrigation.

After breakfast, drive to visit the Tianmen Mountain, which is renowned for the Tianmen Cave. The cave is 131.5 meters high and 57 meters wide. The round-trip cable car will save your transportation time and physical strength for sightseeing.

CHONGQING CITY WALK

In the morning, meet your local guide and driver at your hotel lobby, then we will start your exploration of this City of Mountains.

Firstly, we will reach Chongqing People Square, built in June 1997 together with the birth of Chongqing municipality directly under the central government at the same time. Behind the square is renowned Chongqing Great Hall of People.

Then continue a visit to Three Gorges Museum, which is situated opposite the Chongqing People Hall. It is not only the largest monographic museum in China, but also a public undertaking for the preservation, education, scientific research in respect of cultural relics and the natural environment of Chongqing and the Three Gorges area.

After lunch, go to explore the mystical Liziba metro station, where you will have the never-seen magic of the train going through a 11-storey block of flats, existing only in the fantastically structured Chongqing. Then travel up to E’ling Park and embrace an impressive panorama of this magic city. Then, we will have a light walk along the Shancheng Alley to the Tongyuan Gate. The alley used to be a footpath for local residents. It retains many historic buildings which date back to Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) Dynasties. Then we will go down to visit Hongya Cave, the must-see highlight to appreciate the layers of featured Ba and Shu regional wooden tilted houses overlapped leaning the mountain up to 11 storeys, which looks quite glittery lit by the orange lights from nightfall. And continue to get up to the 11 level with vehicles and roads alongside to catch the sparkling nightscape of Jialing River and the nearby buildings with beautiful neon.

After breakfast, go to visit Yu Garden. Yu Garden is one of the most famous gardens in China and is national heritage listed. It was built in 1559 and extended in 1577. Each section of the garden is separated by curved white walls crowned with the head and body of a dragon on them. It's named after the original owner.

Then continue to visit the Jade Buddha Temple, founded in 1882 with two jade Buddha statues imported to Shanghai from Burma by sea. These were a sitting Buddha (1.95 meters tall, 3 tonnes), and a smaller reclining Buddha representing the Buddha's death.

Enjoy a panoramic view of the modern face of Shanghai from the 118th floor of “the Eye of Shanghai” Shanghai Tower.

Then, you will stop at the Bund, originally a simple towpath for transporting goods but now transformed into a feverish trading district. You will stroll along the Bund, seeing and feeling the perfect fusion of Chinese and Western cultures while at the same time taking in the stunning Shanghai skyline with your own eyes.

This evening, we will enjoy an immersive cultural banquet -Gongyan. An immersive cultural feast blending Ming-Qing elegance with sensory artistry. Housed in a century-old townhouse with carved rosewood screens and Ming-style famille verte porcelain, it features Suzhou embroidery (lotus, cranes—symbols of virtue) and warm lantern light.
